Impressive Video Clip by Our Black Belts

I was totally stunned when I saw the video clip. Dumbfounded would seem to be a better word to describe my reaction then. It was so remarkably done that one can easily mistaken it as done by a professional.

The video clip was produced by Tan Seng Huat together with the rest of the black belts, to be submitted as his last assignment for his final year exam in college. Will he pass his exams? You tell me!

I was so impressed that I couldn’t help watching it over and over again. If I were asked to give a rating for it, I would give it a perfect 10. And I don’t usually give such high ratings.

The members of the cast are : Chong Jang Fung, Tan Hong Wen, Thanindran, Ong Wei Sherng, Low Bing Shiun and of course none other than Tan Seng Huat himself. Tan Seng Huat was also the producer, director and the fighting scene choreographer. Incidentally all these talented youths are also members of the Power Sport Demonstration Team. Am I proud of them? You bet!

Come, relax and watch the show. You will enjoy every moment of it like I do! Phew!!!…I still have not got over the excitement yet!

About 320 participants took part in the 11th Power Sport Taekwondo Championships held at the SRJK (C) Pandamaran B hall on the 26th of June 2011.

The championship, organised by Power Sport Taekwondo with support from the Selangor State Education Depatment, Top A Plastics was the co-sponsor, were aimed at helping the club members gain exposure.

The championship was officiated by Tuan Noor Azli bin Abd Rahman, Penolong Pengarah Kanan Ketua Unit, Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor on behalf of Tuan Hj. Mahmud bin Karim, Timbalan Pengarah, Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor as he was unable to attend due to some official duties.

During the one-day meet, competitors aged from seven to 17 years from 12 primary schools and eight secondary schools took part in both sparring and pattern categories. Spectators also had the opportunity to witness taerobics and destruction demonstrations.

There was a small group of enthusiastic parents known as the Power Sports Parents Support Team, who were there to cheer for their kids so they feel they are being backed up when they’re fighting. Besides that, they also held a small fund raising by selling food and drinks like noodles, sandwiches and 100 plus. They are planning for a get-together for parents sometime soon.

BU3 Sport Demo, Wed 29th June 2011

Early in the morning, on Wed, 29th June 2011 as I was leaving my house in Klang to go for the sport demo, it started to rain. My heart sanked. I knew the students would be very disappointed if the demo was cancelled. When I reached the Kelana Stadium, the weather was perfect there. Cool and not sunny unlike previous years. However, after the march pass, it started to drizzle and then it began to pour. Consequently, our team was told that they would only be performing at the end of the sports day. Disappointment were written all over their faces. All 90 of them had been practising everyday for the whole week, and simply just couldn’t wait to show off their performance. The taerobic dance moves were choreographed by the committee themselves.

When Mr. Wong learned that they were willing to do even in the rain, he relented but told them to be careful as the field was quite slippery. They leapt with joy when they were told the news. How did they perform on that rainy day? Suffice to tell…they left the audience screaming uncontrollably throughout the whole performance.
