Master Leong Yong Wah, founder and head instructor of Power Sport Taekwondo Martial Arts Academy, had been involved in taekwondo since early 1970. His enthusiasm and passion for the art was partly inspired by the late martial arts legend, Bruce Lee. When he was twenty, he was already an instructor, teaching his first class of about 6 students in SMJK Kwang Hua Klang. The initial years were tough but his commitment and perseverance paid off in the end. Currently, together with his wife (Mdm. Yeap Swee Bee), they have a team of disciplined and dedicated instructors under them, running a string of schools, clubs and centers in the Klang valley.
He was the former Chief Instructor of Selangor in the 1980’s and also was once their Chief Coach. In 1995, in order to avoid the internal conflict in the State, he left together with his group to form the Power Sport Taekwondo Martial Arts Academy directly affiliating themselves to the national body (Malaysia Taekwondo Association, WT).
Currently, he holds a 8th Dan black belt and is also an international referee with WT (kyorugi & poomsae) and a master examiner for Taekwondo Malaysia.

‘Behind every successful man, there is a woman’…how true the saying is. Mdm. Yeap is one such example. She has been a great source of inspiration and strength to her husband when they came out together to form the taekwondo academy. You can say, she was one of the pillars that has made Power Sport Taekwondo Academy what it is today!
Mdm. Yeap took up taekwondo when she was in her teens, and since then she had never looked back. She was very active in competition in her younger days, and had brought home her fair share of medals. She was also nominated to be the Sport Woman of the year in 1978.
In the more recent years, she was also the Secretary General of the Malaysia Taekwondo Association, WT. from 2005 – 2007.
Currently, she holds a 7th Dan black belt. Like her husband (Master Y.W. Leong), she is also an international referee with WT (kyorugi & poomsae) and a senior examiner for Taekwondo Malaysia.
