95 students from various schools in the Klang Valley rough it out in a 2-day 1 night camp in SK Taman Megah, P.J. to have the time of their lives. Seeking adventure and excitement, they have to ‘fight for their lives’. There were victories and disappointment too. Watch the video and enjoy…
Watching the video as I edit, I can’t help but noticed two things:
1. Nik Nurul Amanina has made significant improvement in her skill level. Seeing how she fought off her 2 opponents at the same time is remarkable. As can be seen from the video how the 2 black belts sparred hard and attacked her relentlessly. Amanina was sitting for her 2nd Dan Black Belt test.
2. Yet at the end of the sparring session, I was very happy and proud to see Joelle Yap and Jade Wong helping Nina Amin and checking on her to see if she was okay. Actions like that always warm our hearts. My wife and I are indeed very fortunate to have them as our students.
Each month, Power Sport Taekwondo Martial Arts Academy honors a student from among its ranks for good attitude, discipline and zeal in taekwondo. It is also meant to provide an opportunity for members to know their friends better. Selections rotate among the academy’s members from month to month. Only 12 students earn “Student of the Month” accolades each calendar year, with an individual honored each month. Students may be selected for this prestigious honor only once in their careers at Power Sport Taekwondo Martial Arts Academy.

Rubeni Selvaraj was selected by Power Sport Taekwondo Academy as the ‘Student of the Month’ for December 2014. Like her elder sibling, Rubeni has dedicated herself to taekwondo for more than a decade. With her long legs and 9 gold medals under her belt, she is a formidable opponent to many. Rubeni is unassuming, disciplined, committed, respectful, friendly and easy to get along with. Currently, she is taking a break due to a knee injury. We’re praying for her speedy recovery and hope to have her back in the team soon!
