BU3 Sport Demo, Wed 29th June 2011

Early in the morning, on Wed, 29th June 2011 as I was leaving my house in Klang to go for the sport demo, it started to rain. My heart sanked. I knew the students would be very disappointed if the demo was cancelled. When I reached the Kelana Stadium, the weather was perfect there. Cool and not sunny unlike previous years. However, after the march pass, it started to drizzle and then it began to pour. Consequently, our team was told that they would only be performing at the end of the sports day. Disappointment were written all over their faces. All 90 of them had been practising everyday for the whole week, and simply just couldn’t wait to show off their performance. The taerobic dance moves were choreographed by the committee themselves.

When Mr. Wong learned that they were willing to do even in the rain, he relented but told them to be careful as the field was quite slippery. They leapt with joy when they were told the news. How did they perform on that rainy day? Suffice to tell…they left the audience screaming uncontrollably throughout the whole performance.

Sport Demo by SMK Seksyen 9, Shah Alam Taekwondo Club.

Sunday, 19th June 2011 was a long day for the members of SMK Seksyen 9 taekwondo club. They were told their demonstration would be around 9.30 am. They waited and waited under the blistering sun. Usually they are a high spirited bunch, but their enthusiasm took a dip that day when their turn never seems to come. Their energy were sapped out, and many were getting restless. I had to think of ways to cheer them up . It was for a full 3 hours under the torrid weather before they were told to perform their demo at around 12.30 pm.

With their somewhat flagging spirit, I am heartened to say they gave a great show with the audience cheering as they showed off their stunts and power in destruction. The star for the day was Muhammad Aiman bin Md Nasir who jumped over 8 human obstacles to break a board. The cheer and scream he drew forth from the audience was deafening but encouraging.

Well done the boys, I’m very proud of them.”

Well, I am proud of you all too! Keep it up! Anyway, I believe you all could do better than what you have just done.
